A two-pole medieval tent of 6 x 3 m size. This pavilion is made of impregnated cotton (340 - 310 gr/m2). It has a construction of so-called umbrella, with walls mounted to the roof with little S-shaped hooks. A cotton tent “Umbrella” is stable and much easier in setting out than the standard pavilion with two poles. There are cones with pommels on the high spots of the masts.
The inside of a pavilion can be divided into separate rooms. Dedicated curtains can be purchased for an extra fee.
A set of an “Umbrella” historical tent consists of:
- a three-part tent sheet (a roof and two walls)
- 14 ropes of 3,5 m length each, tied to the roof
- 14 ropes of 2,5 m length each, tied to the roof
- 42 hooks + 2 auxiliary pieces
- 40 tent pegs + 2 auxiliary pieces
- 2 wind ropes of 15 m length each
- 2 wooden pommels on poles + small wooden pole for a flag
- 2 wheels (5 openings)
- 8 wooden poles fi 28 mm, 124 cm long
- 2 wooden poles fi 28 mm, 130 cm long
— 2 large masts of 365 cm height
— a set of metal parts to join the masts
There is a possibility to exchange polypropylene rope for hempen one in the medieval tent Umbrella. The polypropylene ones are more durable, they unwind and stretch out less.
From the outside, the two-masted umbrella resembles ordinary pavilions. This type has balls and beams - one for each mast.
We sew tents from high-quality impregnated cotton with a weight of approximately 340 gr/m2, which has rainproof and anti-rot properties.
Due to the fact that our tents are sewn from 100%-natural fabrics, they are meant to be used occasionally. By “occasional use” we mean using the tent in a row of maximum 5 days, a couple times a season/a year, with drying the tent’s canvas after each usage. Despite anti-mold and anti-rain impregnation, when you use the tent for a prolonged time, mold spots might start to appear and the fabric might lose its anti-rain properties – especially in humid weather conditions (long and heavy rains, the lack of sun, high air humidity etc.). Therefore, the deterioration of tent’s condition due to prolonged usage cannot be treated as a ground for complaints. However, if you are interested in such usage of our tents, please contact us and we will offer you an alternative to our standard tent fabrics (e.g. a mixture of natural fabric with polyester, with higher endurance against dampness and mold).
